KKPC’s Two Trip Burrow Baiting Service is designed to reduce rodent populations in the lawn and landscaping. Through thorough inspection, proper identification, baiting of rodent burrows, and bait station placements the rodent population outside of the structure will be greatly reduced. This service is the first step to reducing rodent populations, followed by our Monthly Rodent Prevention Program to keep rodent populations at bay.
Pests this Service Controls
This service can be geared towards field mice, rats, chipmunks, thirteen lined ground squirrels, voles, and shrews. Due to the wide variety of rodents this service can control it is extremely important to properly identify the evidence and to know the differences in control strategies and conditions conducive to each rodent’s survival.
Goals of Service
Locate the areas that are infested
Locate the food sources
Locate, bait, and fill any rodent burrows
Eliminate the rodents safely and effectively
Customer Consultation
Your technician will ask questions to be able to understand the extent of the concern, what prompted the call, etc..
What have you found?
Where are you seeing the evidence?
How long has this been going on for?
Inspection
When inspecting the landscaping we will be looking for burrows and conditions conducive to the rodent’s survival both on the customer’s property and adjacent properties.
Quarter to golf ball size holes that go into the ground or under concrete slabs
Round holes with digging in rock walls
Fruit, nut, and seed bearing trees and bushes
Chicken coops
Compost bins
Wood and brush piles
Corn fields, prairies, marshes, retention ponds, or woods adjacent to the property
Making Exterior Bait Placements
Exterior bait placements will be made in close proximity to where evidence was found during the inspection. Stations should be placed in these areas of high activity or near areas with limitations to the service. Bait stations will be placed in a manner where they are not accessible by pets and children. All bait placements are also made in locking, tamper-proof bait stations.
Expectations after Service
It can take up to 3 weeks to see a reduced population, in that time the customer may still find new activity outside, this is normal. We will follow up for our second service in approximately 3 weeks after our initial service for a second inspection and burrow baiting. We will also remove our exterior bait stations at this service unless you are continuing on one of our Monthly Rodent Prevention Programs, or our Insect & Rodent Combo Package.
Limitations of Service
Unfortunately, there is no way to stop the rodents from being on the property. The rodent populations can be reduced drastically if food, water, and harborage are removed. In areas where these conditions can not be removed, our Monthly Rodent Prevention Program is a great option to keep the population reduced on the property, limiting the damage they can cause.
Limitations to the service performed may include the items below. If you have any of these conditions please correct them prior to the follow up service.
Wood piles that rodents are burrowing under
Rock walls with burrows that go all the way through
Heavy foliage that we cannot inspect under
